Donald Trump isn't the only Ivy League grad taking a look at the White House for 2016.
Princeton undergrad and Harvard Law graduate Ted Cruz announced his candidacy for President this week, becoming the first major Republican candidate to officially reveal his 2016 intentions.
The Texas senator announced the start of his campaign at Liberty University on Monday, saying that “We will get back and restore that shining city on a hill that is the United States of America." While Cruz was born in Canada, he was a U.S. citizen at birth and is likely still eligible for the highest office in the land.
According to a GQ profile from 2013, Cruz may not be that receptive to Penn and its graduates. In the profile, it was reported that, while a Harvard Law student, Cruz refused to study with anyone who wasn't an undergraduate at Harvard, Princeton or Yale instead of "minor Ivies like Brown or Penn."
