Social media is radically changing the way applicants and universities interact. One graduating high school senior capitalized on colleges’ increased Twitter presence to make her college decision.

Klaudia Jazwinska, a prospective journalism student, was deciding between Lafayette College and Lehigh University. She decided to post a tweet asking the admissions departments of both schools to convince her that attending their school would be the better decision.

Lehigh University responded to Klaudia’s tweet, mentioning the school’s undergraduate research program, diverse selection of clubs, and beautiful campus in their Tweet. These types of interactions with prospective students are not out of ordinary for the school. As Lindsay Lebresco, who works in the school’s Office of Communications and Public affairs, told Lauren Weaver for USA Today, “Social media allows us to build relationships with students before they come to campus.”

Klaudia ended up choosing to attend Lehigh and is currently a freshman there.
