While Boston's 2024 Olympic bid involves the usage of Harvard facilities, Harvard will not be helping the bid with any fundraising efforts, the Harvard Crimson reports.
Harvard President Drew G. Faust spoke with the Crimson, saying that Harvard would not be sharing in fundraising with the Olympic bid and would also not share names of donors.
This runs contrary to Boston 2024's budget proposal, which said that the Olympic fundraising would "collaborate with our college and university partners in this bid" and mentioned Harvard as a school with one of the highest endowments in the country.
Faust said that Harvard "will not make any compromises in resources that would be allocated" to the academic and institutional mission of the University.
If Boston is chosen as the host city for the 2024 Olympics, Harvard would likely host multiple events, including field hockey at Harvard Stadium.
