"The Hunting Ground," a film centered on rape culture on college campuses, has received powerful reactions.

The film focuses on telling the stories of six universities' sexual assault cases and their handling of it. During the film's showing at the Sundance Film Festival, members of the audience "repeatedly gasped as student after student spoke on camera about being sexually assaulted — and being subsequently ignored or run through endless hoops by college administrators concerned about keeping rate statistics low."

Concerns over the backlash the film will receive from universities and institutions of higher education do not intimidate CNN, which will be broadcasting the film later this year. In response to questions about possible angry responses, CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker said he does not feel fear. "They're on the wrong side," Zucker said.

Though rape culture has been explored by various mediums, the responses to exploration through film have appeared to be strongest, a nod "to the power of film."
