A pipe in the first floor ceiling of Skirkanich Hall leaked this afternoon at around 12:20 p.m, causing water to spill over the first floor.
According to Kilian Feeney, the building administrator for the Engineering School, the issue was due to a broken brass fitting on a pipe in the first floor ceiling of Skirkanich.
Facilities and Real Estate Services “responded very quickly,” Feeney said.
The water impacted the entrance area in Skirkanich. Nobody was forced to evacuate.
A crew is currently working on repairing the damage. They will remove the part of the ceiling that was damaged and disinfect it.
The damage will have no impact on students.
