As a 2012 Candidate for the Undergraduate Assembly, I have three major issues I would address. The first, expand weekend dining hours. Currently, two dinning halls are open for only two meals. The 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. hours do not fit student schedules for those who want to eat earlier, eat more, and eat later. If elected, I will advocate for longer dining hours on weekends. In academics, I will work to streamline the Penn InTouch System. Presently, the system works but is not straightforward to use. I want to simplify the system by integrating Penn Course Review, placing mock schedules side-by-side with course choices, and making schedules easily exportable to calendar applications like Google Calendar and iCalendar. Third, I want to improve the communication between the UA and the student body using tools like the Dan Bernick’s newly created pennhelp@gmail.com to help students voice issues, questions, and concerns.
