A car was on fire outside of the Radian on Walnut Street tonight at about 6:15 p.m.

The Philadelphia Fire Department put out the flames about 20 minutes later. No one was injured.

Paul Zambito, the car's owner and student at the Restaurant School, was driving to class when he heard police sirens behind him about a block before the Radian.

"The police pulled me over because they saw flames coming out from underneath the car," he said.

Zambito said the police immediately rushed him out of the car.

Prior to being pulled over, he said he did not see any smoke, but could "smell something."

The car, a 2006 silver Chevrolet Impala belonging to Zambito's son, had no previous problems.

Zambito believed the car was most likely beyond repair, as the engine "had been cooked."
