Auto theft € September 22 -- A person unaffiliated with the University reported that a black BMW convertible was taken from the Penn Tower Hotel parking lot at 399 South 33rd Street between 7:30 a.m. and 5:55 p.m.
€ September 22 -- A woman unaffiliated with the University reported that her 1999 red Pontiac Sunfire was taken from the Penn Tower Hotel parking lot at 11:21 p.m. The woman said that, upon entering the lot, she saw a man she assumed was a valet and gave him her car keys. When she returned to the lot, her keys and car were gone.
€ September 21 -- A male University student reported that his 1991 blue Toyota Corolla was taken from the 3700 block of Chestnut Street between 3:45 p.m. and 9:41 p.m. The car was parked and secured.
Robbery € September 24 -- A man affiliated with the University reported that four men approached him on the 4200 block of Pine Street at 2:47 a.m. They demanded his money and punched him in the face. The man handed over his wallet and the four men fled.
Burglary € September 22 -- A male University employee reported that a boom box -- valued at $100 -- was taken from a classroom in the Towne Building at 220 S. 33rd Street. There were signs of forced entry through a window on the southeast side of the building, and several desk drawers had been ransacked.
Theft € September 24 -- A University employee reported that the right-side window of his 1999 Dodge van -- parked on the 3800 block of Baltimore Avenue -- was smashed between 9 a.m. and noon. Taken was a cellular phone, valued at $100.
€ September 24 -- A male University student reported that his gym bag was taken from a secured locker in Gimbel Gymnasium at 3701 Walnut Street. The bag and its contents were valued at $350.
€ September 23 -- A woman unaffiliated with the University reported that her laptop computer -- valued at $2,500 -- and $40 in cash were taken from her hotel room at the Inn at Penn, located at 3600 Sansom Street. The room was locked and there was no sign of forced entry.
€ September 23 -- A woman unaffiliated with the University reported that the driver's-side window of her car -- parked on the 3700 block of Ludlow Street -- was smashed between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Taken was a cellular phone, valued at $129.
€ September 22 -- A male University student reported that a laptop computer -- valued at $3,000 -- was taken from his unsecured room in a residence on the 3800 block of Walnut Street between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
€ September 22 -- A female University student reported that the right rear window of her car was smashed between 3:30 p.m. on September 21 and 1:45 p.m. on September 22. Taken were a CD player, valued at $150, and a glove compartment clip.
€ September 21 -- A female University employee reported that a computer -- valued at $1,200 -- was taken from a classroom in Steinberg-Dietrich Hall at 3620 Locust Walk between 4 p.m. on September 20 and 1:30 p.m. the next day.
